APPAMADA

Hello! I would like to come to Zazen tomorrow, but I'm not sure where to park. I drove by the house on 38th street three time last weekend without coming to an answer :) Any advice?

Many thanks,

Hannah

Dear Hannah-

First of all please make sure you are on 38th Street rather than 38 1/2 Street, the busy one. There is a split there at Red River between these two streets. There should be plenty of street parking available, but if not, there is a large parking lot that belongs to the restaurant on the frontage road of I-35 there at 38th St. You are welcome to park in their lot, which is about one and a half blocks from the house. I look forward to seeing you!

That clears things up! I drove by 913 38 1/2 St four times and couldn't conjure up the courage to knock on the door. Very glad I didn't :)

Thank you so much for the assistance. I hope to see you soon.

Appamada is not just the occasional mindful thought or attentive state of mind, it’s actually a commitment to being attentive. It’s more than just a meditative state of mind, it’s more than just being mindful. It has to do with that primary ethical or moral orientation we have in life, with which we bring into being whatever activity we’re engaged in. Whether in formal meditation, in our interactions with other people, in our social concerns, or in our political choices, it’s the energetic cherishing of what we regard as good.
